Thank you so much to everyone who joined us for our very special Light up a Life service at Ripon Cathedral yesterday.
It was an incredibly poignant afternoon in which many shared precious memories of their loved ones, and our care in our communities. It has been such a privilege to read your beautiful dedications and hear your unique stories.
Karen Tremble, a former staff member, joined us to illuminate the lights dedicated to those who we were remembering on our Christmas tree at the centre of the cathedral. Karen was a part of Saint Michael’s for almost 29 years, as a Healthcare Assistant, Healthcare Assistant Manager, and Community Volunteer Manager.
Speaking after this memorable moment, Karen said:
“I have attended every Light up a life service at both Ripon Cathedral and Crimple House over the years.
“Each one is different, but all are very emotional occasions.
“It’s been a real privilege to turn on the lights this year at Ripon, remembering all the people I have met and looked after during my time working at Saint Michael’s.
“The Cathedral is such an incredible venue to host this poignant and beautiful event.”
