Charity of the year

Many organisations have a designated charity of the year initiative, which is normally selected by staff. Perhaps you are thinking about nominating us or perhaps we have been chosen.

We love working with our supporters to design a truly memorable year of activities supporting our charity. Please do get in touch with us so that we can support you every step of the way throughout the partnership.

Take on a challenge

Not all heroes wear capes!

From 10,000ft skydives, to the Great North Run (and many other challenge events in between), we have spaces in lots of them.

If you are thinking about assembling a team of heroes at your company to take part in a challenge event, we would love to hear from you. We may even have spaces that we can provide to you and your colleagues.

Find a challenge for you and your team

Raise funds at work

From bake sales to quizzes and everything in between, coming together with colleagues to raise vital funds is a fun and rewarding team-building opportunity, where every penny and pound you raise makes a huge difference to local families affected by terminal illness and bereavement.

We're with you every step of the way to offer ideas, tips and support.

Let us know about your fundraising plans

Matched funding

Many companies support their employees with their fundraising activities and endeavours, by matching what the colleague has raised. This makes the employee feel valued and special, and it can also help the company demonstrate that they have given back in a truly meaningful way, supporting a cause close to an employees heart.

If you are keen to get such a programme set up, or you would like to let us know that we will be benefitting from such a donation, please do get in touch with us.

Payroll giving

As an employer you can offer your team the opportunity to support causes that they care about on a regular basis through their salary? Many companies promote Payroll Giving as an employee benefit – something that could set your business apart from a competitor when it comes to hiring talent.

Payroll Giving is easy to set up and many companies use this to support causes, by matching the donations made by their employees through a Payroll Giving programme.

Payroll Giving is also a safe, secure and tax-efficient way to give. Our friendly, knowledgeable team are here to help you get started. Contact us today to find out more.

Volunteering

Many organisations now offer their employees a set number of days in the year to give back to charity through volunteering. In 2022, companies donated almost 200 hours to us, helping us with a range of tasks in our shops, DIY and gardening. If you would like to find out more about how your company might be able to get involved in such an initiative, please email partnerships@saintmichaelshospice.org.

Hold a collection box for Saint Michael's

If you’re a local business or shop owner, one of the easiest ways you can support Saint Michael’s is by asking for a collection box to display. Spare change soon adds up and, when combined with other collection boxes across our communities, can make a big difference to our vital work supporting local families living with terminal illness and bereavement.
We’ll deliver your box and pick it up again when it’s full, and we'll even give you a certificate to let your customers know how much they have raised. Call (01423) 878 628 or click to get in touch.
