Daisies to bloom in your garden

This summer, hundreds of dedicated daisies will come together to create a special remembrance display within the hospice grounds, a peaceful space filled with memories, reflection and love. Whether you choose to visit the display, place your daisy in your own garden afterwards, or gift one to someone who is grieving, your dedication will become a lasting tribute to someone important to you.

Each daisy includes a personalised dedication tag, allowing you to honour and remember your loved one in a meaningful and personal way.

“Dedicating a daisy feels special to me because it’s lovely and honourable to dedicate it to my Grandpa, who was cared for at the hospice before his passing. I think doing this can reignite memories of loved ones who are no longer around, and I feel that is something very special.

“Saint Michael’s Hospice created a safe and comforting space for my Grandpa in one of their peaceful rooms, with wonderful staff around all the time to care for his needs and make sure he was comfortable.

“The hospice made such a difference to our family. Whether it was showing myself and my brothers to the relatives’ room, handing out drinks, including gin and tonics from the drinks trolley, or helping with some of the harder conversations and questions we were facing, the hospice staff were always there for our family.”

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the handmade daisy? 

Our daisies have been especially designed for Saint Michael’s for this campaign, made by hand using recycled metals, making each one unique. Our daises are durable, weather resistant, and approximate dimensions are H44cm x W10cm. 

 Why a daisy for Saint Michael’s? 

The daisy symbol is rooted in the history of Saint Michael’s, being inspired by the associated flower, the Michaelmas daisy. The design was the winning entry in a small competition held in 1985 and whilst the logo has changed a little over the years, it is still recognisably synonymous with Saint Michael’s.   

 When is the installation available to visit? 

Our 1,500 daisies will stand in the grounds of Crimple House on the 18th and 19th July for the ‘Pick your daisy weekend’. The installation will be available to visit throughout the rest of this week and you’re welcome to drop by during this time to see it. 

 How do I get my daisy?

You are welcome to come along to our open weekend on the 18th and 19th of July to pick your daisy and take it home to cherish. If you can’t attend the event, don’t worry, you can collect your daisy from Reception after this weekend, or we can arrange an alternative way to get your dedicated daisy to you if you can’t collect before mid-August. 

Can I dedicate more than one daisy? 

Yes, you can dedicate as many daisies as you wish, and every £25 will make a difference to our work. To dedicate multiple daisies, please fill in a separate form for each to allow us to keep track of each dedication as we have a limited number available.  

Can I change the name on my dedication? 

Yes, your dedication name will be on a tag rather than engraved so you can absolutely change the name whenever you wish. At our event on the 18th and 19th of July, you will be given a tag to write a special message that will hang from your daisy or if you chose to collect after the event, we will include a tag along with your daisy too. 

How do I add Gift Aid to my daisy? 

We unfortunately can’t accept Gift Aid on your daisy but your £25 is still hugely valuable to us at Saint Michael’s and equates to over one hour of nursing care for local people and their families.
