By signing the Good Youth Employment Charter, we have redoubled our commitment to our incredible team, without whom we couldn’t deliver our vital support to our communities. Investing in our people and continually developing our diversity forms a key part of our three-year plan to provide more care to more people when they need it.
Here, Max Cluderay, who joined our team through the government’s kickstart scheme helping young people gain work experience, shares what growing in his role has meant to him:
“Joining the organisation and receiving my colleagues’ support has helped me realise what I’m capable of and gain confidence.
“Having mainly worked in retail and warehousing before, I was looking for a chance to focus on my own projects and put my organisational skills to good use. An office job seemed more my thing.
“My placement helped me to progress in a relatively short space of time. There were useful sessions on employability, and I picked up lots of transferrable skills which will help in applying for roles in the future.
“The people in our organisation are really supportive and they’re always willing to help out. I feel like everyone is in it together.”
