Erin Harvey describes how her partner relocated to Harrogate in 2024, she’s found working for Saint Michael’s the ideal support while settling into a new community.
She says: “My partner is an Infantry Corporal at Harrogate Army Foundation College, having been relocated there from Edinburgh.
“As a long term partner, I moved with him and we live in the local military estate.
“Moving here from Scotland has meant lots of changes in our life. Saint Michael’s have been really understanding and given me the flexibility I needed to make things work.
“Around the time of my interview shortly after me moved, I had a family emergency back in Scotland. The charity was really supportive in letting me have the interview online so that I was able to go back and be with my loved ones.
“Since starting here, I’ve really appreciated the flexible working which has helped me get set up with a new GP and our new puppy.
“I instantly felt really at home, which has been great not knowing anyone locally. My colleagues and managers have been very supportive, and looked out for me when my partner has been away on training.
