Supporting our patients and families with their emotional wellbeing

Earlier this week around the State Funeral, and following the death of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, our Wellbeing Team were on hand to offer support to patients and families affected by the news.

Compassionately supporting our patients and families with their emotional as well as physical wellbeing is at the heart of the care we provide for those living with terminal illness and bereavement.

Earlier this week around the State Funeral, and following the death of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, our Wellbeing Team were on hand to offer support to patients and families affected by the news.  Times of national grief such as these can affect us all in different ways, and may trigger difficult feelings. Our dedicated team were and continue to be available to anyone requiring emotional support.

On Monday, our team supported patients staying on our Inpatient Unit at our Crimple House Hospice, and their families, to watch the State Funeral if they wished to with our trained experts by their side to chat through any emotions they were experiencing. Our team also spoke with those receiving our care in the place they call home who wished to talk over the phone.

Comforting refreshments (pictured) were kindly provided by our volunteer bakers- we thank them for their contributions, and all those who have been supporting those in our community through this time.
