Special musical visit for Robin, a patient staying at our Saint Michael’s Hospice

Robin Murtagh, one of our patients staying on our Inpatient Unit, had a very special visit recently from his friend and musician Ade Payne, after our team supported the pair to share their favourite songs together.

Robin said “it was absolutely fantastic to sing my favourite songs including Hotel California by the Eagles and Dakota by Stereophonics. Ade brought his guitar and amp along so we could have a jam together.

“I’m hoping to send some videos of us singing together to my friend in Italy, who I’ve been keeping in touch with. These songs are dedicated to her.

“I’m a big music fan and love all styles of music right across the board.”

Our nurses and healthcare assistants caring for Robin also enjoyed joining in with a few of the well-known tunes!

Speaking about the team, Robin said: “This place is wonderful and the nurses have been amazing. I can’t fault the place. They’ve been helping me to feel relaxed in a way that’s made a big difference.”
