Second ‘cuddle’ bed delivered to our Crimple House Hospice thanks to local crane hire company

Our new ‘cuddle’ bed was recently delivered to our Crimple House Hospice.

The specialist ‘cuddle’ bed is designed to allow a second person to lie beside their loved one to share a cuddle and offer comfort.

The bed does everything a regular hospice bed needs to do, with adjustable settings for the patient’s comfort, and at the touch of a button it can widen to become a double bed that is safe for use by two people.

This means there is room for our patients to snuggle with children, friends, parents and even their beloved pets to share precious moments together, without the physical barriers of an ordinary bed.

This is our second cuddle bed having installed our first bed in March last year.

Lynda Green, our Head of Nursing Services, said: “We are delighted to offer patients and their loved ones the opportunity to cuddle at a time in their lives when being close is so precious.

“Spending these moments together can bring comfort and make a meaningful difference to our patients in their last days of life.”
