Recognising our commitment to diversity as a “Disability Confident Committed Employer”

We would like to share that we have gained official Government recognition for being a Disability Confident Committed Employer.

The certification acknowledges our existing, and continually developing, respect for people with disabilities and health conditions, and our wish to welcome members with disabilities to our team across our family of services. Every day, we see the range of individuals who work for us contributing their unique skills and insights to deliver for members of our community. As part of our aspirations to make a greater impact, reaching more people, with more services, we look forward to building an increasingly diverse team, with each member fully supported to reach their potential.

As part of the scheme, we have committed to:

  • ensure our recruitment process is inclusive and accessible
  • communicating and promoting vacancies
  • offering an interview to people with disabilities who meet the minimum criteria for the job
  • anticipating and providing reasonable adjustments as required
  • supporting any existing employee who acquires a disability or long term health condition, enabling them to stay in work
  • at least one activity that will make a difference for people with disabilities

Tony Collins, our Chief Executive, said “We are pleased to redouble our commitment to supporting and recruiting members of our team with disabilities and health conditions. We recognise the valuable contribution they make in successfully serving our community, and in helping represent the diverse lived experiences of the people we care for and support.”
