Social and emotional support from our caring volunteers.
Saint Michael’s Volunteer Visitors provide reliable social and emotional support. Volunteer support can range from help with simply being there in people’s own homes and listening, to supporting carers to take a valuable break, helping them to feel confident that they can continue their caring role for as long as possible.
A Volunteer Visitor can be sourced for anybody who is has a palliative diagnosis and is in the last 6 months of life.
All Volunteer Visitors are fully trained and are supported by a range of Saint Michael’s specialists. They are supervised by members of the patient care team and are thoroughly checked by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
