Practical support

From financial questions to issues relating to work, family and transport – there can be a lot of things to think about when you or someone close to you is living with a terminal illness. Our Patient and Family Support Team can offer practical advice and information. From making a will, to benefits advice and planning for the future, our team can help you to focus on making the most of time together.

Emotional and spiritual support

Living with a terminal illness can affect a person in many
different ways; from changes to their body, their relationships
and their independence to differences to their sense of self,
their social life and their confidence.

Our patient and family support team are based at Saint Michael’s
Hospice and offer emotional, psychological and spiritual support to help you to express and understand feelings and concerns associated with your illness.

We understand that when someone is terminally ill, everyone around
them is affected; family, friends and carers may feel overwhelmed, or
have questions and concerns. Talking to one of our experienced staff
can help people to recognise and explore their thoughts and feelings.

Bereavement support

Our Just 'B' bereavement support service offers pre-and post-bereavement support for people experiencing any type of bereavement, including suicide, road traffic accident or terminal illness.

To access support, speak with a member of the hospice team or contact the service directly.
