The latest Covid-19 updates from Saint Michael's
Saint Michael’s Hospice continues to operate increased infection prevention and control protocols. These heightened protections remain in place indefinitely to protect the individuals in our care, their families and friends, and our team.
There are no longer restrictions in place on visiting times or the number of visitors able to visit a patient at once.
When visiting patients, we ask that visitors wear masks and maintain social distancing. Visors are also available for visitors who are medically exempt from wearing a face mask.
Visitors under the age of 12 will be requested to wear a mask where appropriate after confirming with their parent or guardian.
Visitors will be screened when arriving at the Hospice with a check for high temperature and symptoms before being able to visit a patient.
If you are unwell in any way that may suggest you have Covid-19, or you are self-isolating, please do not visit the Hospice. However, we understand that there may be cases in which this is especially difficult or where a visit may be essential for a patient. Please call the Hospice on (01423) 879 687 if this is the case so we can support your individual needs.
Patients will continue to be tested regularly and cared for according to their needs.
If you have any questions or concerns about visiting or contacting loved ones, please call (01423) 879 687 and press option 1.
Our patient-facing staff are continuing to test regularly and wear protective equipment. Our non-patient-facing staff and volunteers are continuing to take care and look out for those in our community; they are happy to take precautionary measures such as wearing a face covering or social distancing should doing so help you to feel comfortable.
Supporters visiting our shops are not restricted in numbers and changing areas are open, where it is safe to do so, and subject to robust cleaning measures.
All staff and volunteers working in our shops are encouraged to wear a face covering, unless they are exempt.
If supporters visiting our shops wish to, we welcome you to continue wearing a face covering during your visit.
Our community is able to donate their items on all days their chosen shop is open. We ask that you please call ahead to your chosen shop to ensure they can accept your items. More information on our shops, including contact details, can be found here.
Thank you to our community for their ongoing support.
We encourage everyone across our community to regularly read the latest guidance from the NHS and government.
If you are unsure about our current guidance and wish to speak to someone, please call us on (01423) 879 687.
