Training
Learning is at the very heart of Saint Michael’s mission to promote and provide palliative care of the highest standards to all those in need. As specialists in palliative care we are proud to share the skills and expertise that we have acquired over more than 25 years caring for people with terminal illness.
Saint Michael’s is currently developing its education programme for students and professionals. In the future we aim to offer programmes that cover both specialist and non specialist fields.
Currently our programme includes:
1. The Certificate in Palliative care for GPs- offered in association with the University of Teesside
2. Study days for health care assistants who are currently caring for people with terminal illness
These are led by experienced and welcoming course leaders who deliver sessions on a range of topics that may help you further your career or give you the on the job confidence you want.
Our Just ‘B’ team also offers training in the field of bereavement support. This includes in-house training exclusively for you.
On top of these direct training opportunities we also hold special one-off conferences that are designed to develop insights into key aspects of specialist palliative care, bereavement support and lymphoedema management. Our last conference explored cultural beliefs in death and dying.
Training Opportunities.
